PAINTING – To form in colors a
figure of likeness on a flat surface, as upon canvas; to portray
with paints: acrylic, oil, watercolor, etc.; as to paint an abstract,
portrait, still life or landscape.
CLAY– CERAMICS: the expression of art through earthenware,
porcelain, or tile. Shaping by hand or using original molds then
firing at a high temperature.
SCULPTURE– The art or practice of shaping figures or design
in the round or in relief, as by chiseling stone or wood, modeling
clay or casting or welding metal.
DIGITAL ART – Original work created solely on a computer
and work created by using computer programs to manipulate or alter
materials. Work must be limited editions, signed and numbered.
DRAWINGS/PASTELS – Works on paper or canvas using pencil,
crayon, ink, charcoal, pastels and other marking media.
FIBER – Artwork from fibers such as basketry, weaving, leatherwork,
tapestry and papermaking. (no wearable knitted or crocheted items;
no kits)
GLASS – The expression of art through transparent or translucent
objects made from blowing and/or fashioning glass.
JEWELRY – Ornaments solely created by the artist, such as
bracelets, necklaces, or rings. Made of handmade or semi precious
beads, precious metals or natural fibers. (no kits)
MIXED MEDIA – 2-D: includes any combination of a variety
of materials to create an original work of art with a one-sided
orientation. Collages are an example of this type of artwork. 3-D:
combines a variety of materials plus their associated techniques,
to form an original work of art visible from 360 degrees.
PHOTOGRAPHY – The process of capturing images by the action
of light, then printing the images, by chemical or digital means
onto a surface. Includes traditional film, hand colored, emulsion
transfers & digital photography that have not been excessively
manipulated to achieve results beyond what could be done in a traditional
darkroom. Traditional photography using digital means should apply
in the photography category.
PRINTMAKING – A transfer process of producing original art,
usually in multiples. To involve the creation of a drawing or other
composition on a surface such as metal plate, stone or wood, to
transfer to paper through the use of a press or impressions made
by hand. |
